Her siblings comprised five and she moved alongside the family members to Newark New Jersey not long after Tisha's birth. Campbell's fascination with cinema goes back to her childhood. As a six-year-old child She began her acting career in The Big Blue Marble. Her life was hectic with juggling school, acting and other commitments. As she finished her education in Arts High School Newark, Tisha was still performing in stage plays. Every year she was awarded several acting credits and developed an impressive list of credits as a guest-star and supporting actress. Campbell's life changed dramatically after thirty years of marginal roles and appearances. On Fox's very successful show Martin She played Regina Waters Payne. Campbell became a well-known comedy figure during the run of five years of Martin. She made a comeback to T.V. in 2001 with ABC's comedy show My Wife and Kids and received an award from BET and NAACP award for her groundbreaking comedic performance. An impressive acting career isn't all Tisha is well-known for. Tisha was accused by Martin Lawrence, her Martin co star of verbal and sexual abuse in 1997. This shocked the TV industry.
